People tend to play Slytherins like they evil characters in tabletop rpgs, I refer to them as Chaotic Stupid. 'OMG I'm evil, it means I must hate/kill/be a generally horrible person.' Thing is, evil can indeed be charismatic. Yes, Hitler was a horrible person but ever see him give a speech? It was empowering, he raised Germany up from the ashes, was voted the Times Man of the Year in fact. He held gahterings, hated sexual and political jokes but loved any other kind of joke. He was a "normal" guy. Of course, people then found out what he was really like. Vlad Tepes, the Impaler. You know, Dracula, Son of the Devil. H e slaughtered hundreds but even today he is idolized as a national hero in Romania for holding off the Turkish hordes through violence. My point is, there are lots of different kinds of evil. Just cause one plays evil doesnt mean they have to be a socially inadequate person. Of course, it can also be argued that the Slytherins are still in school and frankly, kids are cruel. High school can be hard and the Slytherins are there to make it hard.
