It was early - and right from the moment Akaya began to drag himself out of sleep's grasp he knew something was off. It was uncomfortable - he wasn't in his own warm bed; the air smelled foul, he wasn't in his own home. A slowly awakening brain registered the sound of voices (not his mother's) and upon opening sleep-hazed eyes, he noticed it automatically.
Boys all around him; some familiar, some not so; some friends, some he couldn't have cared less if he never saw again. Yagyuu-senpai and Jackal-senpai a few desks in front of him, Niou-senpai three seats to his left. Akaya didn't dare look for the rest, not once he caught sight of several men with nasty looking guns and heard just what exactly the (really irritating) voice near the front was saying.
What the shit was this, some kind of joke? He didn't want to believe a single word of it, and it wasn't until he was handed a slip of paper with a list of names on it did he even begin to maybe take what he was hearing seriously. Perhaps a little afraid and maybe even a little excited at the prospect, he began to write; conveniently skipping over the names of his own teammates (where the hell were Yukimura-buchou and Yanagi-san, anyway? Were they okay?). True, if what this Junpei character (why did Horio sound so familiar?) was saying was true, they'd all have to die if he wanted to live... but he wasn't going to personally have a hand in it.
One by one boys were called and lead out, and he couldn't help but feel sick at the frightened-but-trying-not-to-look-it 'reassuring' glance Jackal-senpai had give him on his way out.
"Kaidou Kaoru!"
"Kamio Akira!"
Two more to go.
"Kaneda Ichirou!" The guy looked ready to wet his pants.
"Kikumaru Eiji!" Two more minutes, and...
"Kirihara Akaya!"
Taking a deep breath and steeling himself Akaya slid out of his seat. All eyes were on him as he made his way towards the door and he paused for a moment to turn his head, flashing a grin and thumbs up at what remained of his team.
He ignored the massive body in the hallway as he took hold of his bag and was lead to the door - he was free. Free to do whatever he wished for the next three days, without consequences (probably.) With a last look at the schoolhouse he set off, putting the rising sun behind him to search for a place that would give him enough time to think things through.
[RESULTS: Boy #19 Kirihara Akaya - Perfect health, but a little freaked. MOVING from D6 to E4.]
