people can believe in God so blindly and dont really know what they believe but they do it cause it seems like the "right thing to do."
when i become a "hardcore christian" again i dont want to live the same boring religious life. it was so much pressure as a christian to live up to the standards of the bible and draining to try to convince my friends of my faith. but im so glad that i had left for a while, actually several times, to really get things straight in my head and in my heart. i know why i believe now, i know why im gonna stop smoking now. its stupid to say you shouldnt smoke cause "its a bad thing." how many bad things in the day do we do without even thinking about them? and we look at potsmokers and "druggies" and condemn them.
id rather quit smoking because I DONT HAVE TO anymore. not because it's bad or it ruins people's lives. simply because i have an alternative, God, in whom i am truly satisfied.
im so back and forth with this christian thing and this world thing. but im so happy that i got to see both perspectives and why people believe and why they dont. i agree with nathan ng, who says all of us can be a little more openminded to the things around us, not just the things we've "traditionally" believed.
