crossposting annoyances

crossposting from clients isn't supported at all. the xml-rpc code doesn't know anything about crossposting; update.bml handles it directly. i've had dreamwidth running on my 64-bit desktop/server box for a while now, so i'm going to see if i can fix this. which will probably require learning perl. ;_;
