Three stories vie for my attention today. First, an Air France plane has gone missing while flying from Rio to Paris. I regard this event with a detached, scientific interest wondering what was the cause or circumstances leading to its loss. And prayer for those on-board.
Second, an abortion doctor was shot yesterday in Kansas. I am pro-life and cannot condone the doctor's work, though I fully acknowledge that there are circumstances where an abortion is the morally right decision. But being pro-life leads me to condemn even more strongly the act of murdering a doctor, even one in his specialty.
Third, GM files for bankruptcy. My only connection to the company is my 99 Saturn. Still, I am pondering what assistance the government should play in business, and who should receive what repayment.
