Bikes to Work
My car had the day off, so I made the bicycle put in some time.
Today is Bike to Work today. It was lots of fun to see so many cyclists out this morning. And the whole ride was fun except for a garbage truck that pulled part of the way into the street before seeing me. I was able to swerve around him, but for a moment I could just imagine the painful impact of me and the side of the truck.
I elect to ride on the street (rather than the sidewalk), as it has significantly reduced the frequency of incidents like these. Too often cars would pull directly across the sidewalk without checking for oncoming cyclists. I like being where big things expect fast moving things, so a bicycle isn't too unexpected.
Another wedding to attend tonight. Then I get to play in the snow tomorrow.
