Whale (Orca) Watching
A little over a week ago, my family was in town and we finally had the opportunity to go whale watching. A long cruise out, though we played plenty of cards, culminated in about an hour of watching the whales swim along. The weather was passable, but not sufficient to see the Olympic mountains.
The 100' long ship, Mystic Sea:
We slowed and watched some seals rest. People murmured, "won't they fall off into the water and entertain us". To which others responded, "I bet they are thinking the same thing."
The Orcas spent most of their time just swimming along, though just once did one high tail it.
Otherwise, they would surface briefly and then continue cruising.
And occasionally, there would be other things to see. Like lighthouses. Apparently in winter time, the winds could reach over 100mph for this poor structure.
