Saturday was a really good day. Kathryn and I went snowshoeing off-off-trail avoiding loud snowshoers and louder snowmobiles; however, the snow was also not packed down and without routes, which meant that we went much slower than trail bound people. There were some moments of silence, on a slope of a mountain in the snowy trees. And we could see Rainier above the Cascade range. Eventually we reached our turnaround time and decided to keep climbing in order to find the trail, which we did 5 minutes later. So we went back down the mountain and started a snowball fight.
Then drove back to Redmond, where we got spiffed up and grabbed dinner. Afterwards, we made our way to Woodinville to listen to
dr4b and others sing Handel's Messiah. The concert was good, definitely no complaints about the choir, but the orchestra needed some more work. Some of its members did not look older than Junior High school.
Anyway, good day. Long day. Skiing tonight. :)
