As if one weren't enough...
I've had this idea of something to post for a while, so we'll see how this turns out...
There is a certain narcissism inherent in LJ. I mean if it's my journal, why shouldn't I post about myself. Memes are a big part of this and almost always consist of "Let me tell you something interesting about myself." However, there is also a community built up here that I have noticed is tighter than a lot of other social sites. This fact is even borne out by studies of internet networking. So in an attempt to take advantage of both of these phenomena, I propose a "reverse meme." Tell me five interesting facts about... other people! (I'm as narcissistic as the next LJ'er, which is why it took me three weeks to get around to posting this! :) They can be people on your friend's list or just people that you know, but we don't need to hear the latest gossip about Britney Spears. Importantly, especially given some recent events, respect other people's privacy. I'm not looking for names and dates or where the bodies are buried here, just some fun trivia.
So, to start off, I'll go first:
1. My wife owns about 200 DVD's... and (I believe) she can tell you when and where, and the circumstances under which she bought every one of them!
2. One of my friends speaks Macedonian fluently. (If you don't know what that is, look it up on Wikipedia, and you will get a history lesson in oppression.)
3. shaina_star dyed her hair pink the last time she came to visit us. She promptly redyed it a natural color when she got home... :P
4. My uncle Steve has been a professional drummer for over 30 years in and around Wichita, KS. He's never played with anybody big, and he's never made a living at it, but when he plays it's obvious it's one thing he really loves!
5. My daughter Mary wants to be an architect, won her school spelling bee, draws really well, and played the Wicked Witch in her middle school production of "The Wizard of Oz." :D
