I’ve been so tired lately and that’s not a good thing. Work is starting to get busy for promo again and it’s only going to keep getting busier as summer approaches. This weekend I have my first solo kids expo and as of now I can’t tell if I’m excited about it or not. The main client has been difficult, but what makes that worse is that it’s just a mere lack of common sense on their part. The other clients that’ll be at the expo are being fine but the main thing with them is that they are not my responsibility and the execs they do belong to are not doing their part. Aggravating. But in the end I’m confident it’ll all work out great and come Sunday evening when it’s all over I’ll feel accomplished and exhausted. Plus, they paycheck that follows will be very nice.
The search for my new car is over. I know exactly what I want (a Chevy HHR L2 in Sunburst Orange) it’s just a matter of actually getting the keys in my hand now. I wish our tax refund (cha-ching!) would get here already so I can get my car. Today, being the first day of spring, I wanna drive all over. Who cares if it’s raining! Plus, Bro is back from his vacation today which means it’s back to him borrowing my Buick 24-7. The whole sharing thing isn’t gonna work much longer since my events are picking up. Unless I make it onto “Pimp My Ride” with the Buick, that thing’s on it’s way out.
Homelife is great. Steve and I still get along and having sit-down dinner just about every night together after work has yet to get old. We’ve been taking Sully to training every Monday night and with the exception of Sully not listening to ANYONE last week, the pup’s done pretty well. This past Monday I took the leash and lead him in class and the lil weiner pup actually listened to me. He listened to all my commands, did most of them, and wrestled me to the ground for one. He’s a super sweet dog and it’s adorable watching him interact with other people. Him and Steve literally cuddle on the couch and sometimes even in bed. There best buds and I, well, I’m the one Sully barks at wrestles to the ground. We play Wrestlemania. It’s fun. Sully kicks my ass.
According to my Hello Kitty calendar, today is the first day of spring. To me that means we’re even closer to when Granpa and Granma get back from their winter in Mexico. I’m told they get in the week after Easter. I miss them. Speaking of Easter, it’ll be nice and simple this year. Our first Easter as a married couple will be one spent with just eachother instead of the typical pile of family. Steve’s ‘rents will be out of state for the holiday, I dunno what his sister & hers are doing, and as you know my fam is nonexistent. Steve and I have reservations for Easter brunch at some fancy-schmancy restaurant near our house. We’ll go to church, go to brunch and take the pup out for a nice spring walk. Easter is and always has been my favorite holiday. I love welcoming spring; to me, that’s when the new year begins, not in cold, bitter January. I love looking at all the dressed up little kids proudly strutting into church. (And that one chubby lil girl who HATES the tights her mother made her wear. Chubby Chicadee spends church picking out her cute lil chubby butt wedgie!) I don’t need to get into the meaning of Easter, but that is the most amazing and beautiful thing. Easter has always made me feel whole. And not cuz of marshmallow Peeps. This year’s Easter, I’m predicting, will be perfect.
