mmm. I got a lab order yesterday which was a good thing, as my day totally sucked.
In it was my F5,Doc Constantine, Theodosius, and the imp pack of The Tavern of Hell, Caliban, Port Royal, Uruk, The Isles of Demons, Kumari Kandam.
Here are my reviews, but my nose isn't quite as sophisticated as others and i'm not very good at identifying individual notes. But this is my impressions of stuff.
Port Royal Spiced rum and ship’s wood mixed with the body-warmed trace of a prostitute’s perfume and a hint of salty sea air on the dry-down.
I get get just a hint of spiciness that doesn't really smell like rum as well as a hint ( a very very light hint) of something very feminine. This does smell delicious, but i'm not sure its a scent i would wear out. Much more for the guy thing i think. But it will smell fabulous in an oil warmer methinks.
Uruk Thick bitter almond and heady night-blooming jasmine with saffron, cinnamon leaf, red patchouli, river lilies, bergamot, fig leaf and the sacred incense of Inanna.
*flails about* blech, this goes directly to pure almond on me. There is something else underlying that makes my head spin. I can't even stand to wear it long enough to identify the rest of what's in it. *adds to swap pile*
The Isles of Demons The scent is of wet, dark greenery, carnivorous flowers, volcanic gas, and the hot black musk of the demons and wild beasts that populated the islands.
Yum. The throw on this is lousy for me, and i have to hold it up to my nose to smell anything of it at all and it fades in minutes. Man this is a powerful green scent. Its very darkly sweet smelling and I detect a hint of the musk in there. Hmm. I shall have to figure out a way to make this throw better, cause its yummy.
Tavern of Hell White gardenia, ambergris bouquet, lavender fougere, orange blossom, melissa, tobacco flower, coriander, ebony wood, ylang ylang, absinthe and aged whiskey
I get sweet boozy initially and then it fades into very light lavender with something that i simply can't identify. its another one i'm super sensitive too, can't wear for long and its giving me a headache. hmph.
Kumari Kandam Thick incense, clay, stone, and hothouse blooms with a spike of frost, a hint of decay, and heavy, dolorous aquatic notes.
OOO! its Talkikuu in GC form!! Definitely that cold frosty tone to it with that watery smell coming right out. There is a hint of something flowery as well but the frost and water notes roll right over it. Ooo this is very nice.
Caliban The scent of the salty seas, bittersweet wine, palm and tropical ferns.
The green ferns come out immediately closely followed by this gentle wine under it. Reminds me very much of Nosferatu. I'm not getting anything salty at all from this. Oh i love this. Its a very earthy scent as opposed to the very flowery and feminine which i don't care for much. This might be one of my new favorites. Yum!!
F5 Aloe, white musk, lime peel, fresh mint, seaspray, verbena and green tea.
oh now this is a gentle sweet summer scent. I get the verbena, a hint of lime and the aloe. i get no mint or tea at all. Fascinating. This is usually a lot lighter than i care to wear, but I'm going to have to give it another go sometime.
Doc Constantine Sheer musk, cedar smoke, fir needle, black amber and leather.
Oh Doc, what a sexy sexy scent you are. I get leather and fir and smoke with the ever essential muskiness. Oh wow is this powering, Oh i do like this. It may be a room scent as its perhaps too masculine for me to wear. Man if only i could my boyfriend to wear scents, i would be able to stop sniffing him. mmmmmm sexy scent.
Theodosius Earl Grey tea leaves, a white fougere, jasmine leaf, pearlescent white musk, and vanilla bean.
This scent baffles me. I get the earl grey, and a hint of the vanilla. And the last thing that i can't identify has to be the white fougere. I get No jasmine at all and no musk. I definitely don't think i care for this one at all. Its definitely another very masculine scent.
