That just figures... (one more imp spilled story)

Jun 09, 2006 00:20

Have you ever noticed how all the imp spilled stories are of things infinitely precious and hard to find like Shub and Blue Moon? Mine isn't much different. Tonight, for the first time in over a year of bpal-lovin', I just spilled my first imp. Aunt Caroline's Money Draw. (I was preparing for a health fair, ie marketing opportunity, that I'll ( Read more... )

It's not always an LE -- I just had my first major imp spillage incident the other night, with Bastet. During an attempted healing ritual for a sick cat, no less. It may have been an omen, given that it turned out the cat had to be put to sleep the next day. :-(

I'm so sorry to hear that! It does sound like an omen though. I was taught you need to pay attention to that sort of thing... gee, now I hope my business doesn't have to be put to sleep. Hmm. Maybe it's just time for me to go to sleep. I think I just went beyond the edges of coherency.

Well, I tend to be a bit skeptical about the whole omen bit just because I've known so many people who overdo it, but you never know. I did have a bit of a feeling things might not go well, though, and asked Bast to do what was best for him, knowing that might just mean giving him a good death. And he was peacefully put to sleep with his people around him, petting him as we said our goodbyes, so I think that was about as good an outcome as could be in that situation.

He had something called fatty liver disease, which I hadn't heard of before this happened, but have since heard several other people say their cats died of too. There are treatments available, but they're not very good, and basically just mean racking up multi-thousand-dollar vet bills and putting the cat through all kinds of pain, only to have them usually die anyway. Compared to that, a quiet death surrounded by the people that love you seems pretty good.

To replace the oil I spilled, I've always thought that Greed would be a great money drawing blend. :) But if I really can't find my other imp of AC's Money Draw, nor my imp of Foundation of Fortune, and if I can't afford a bottle of Wealthy Business, I can always go to LuckyMojo.com. They have a wide variety of occult oils & such, and the owner really knows her stuff. I just don't think they'll smell quite as nice, nor that they'll be quite as concentrated. Also that they'd very likely require more work on my part than I think Beth's do. :)

And I'm sorry about the kitty. Sounds like the cat version of hepatitis. Not fun.

Actually I was told by the Lab that yes Greed can be used for Money Drawing. I think they said some of the other sins could also be used for ritual as well (probably aiming for the more balanced version of the sin). I haven't tried it but it seems like a great idea since it smells a bit like money.

I would send you a imp of Money Draw but sadly I looked and I only have Money Bag.

Misslynx I am so sorry to her about your kitty. I know how tough a decision that is. I have sadly been there. Hugs to you.

Huh! So I'm not the only one who thinks it (Greed) smells like dollar bills! Cool. And thanks for the thought but it's okay. I'm sure my other imp will surface sometime after the move is done. (all my sniffies are packed up and moved to temporary lodgings while my SO's furniture comes in and gets moved around.)

I'm really sorry about your kitty. :/

Now is not a good time for cats apparently. One of my friends just put their cat to sleep after the vet realised too late that it has feline leukaemia, and another friend just learnt that their cat's cancer has spread and is planning on having the poor thing put out of its misery very soon.

I'm sad that all these kitties are passing away but always really grateful when I read about owners putting their pets' needs before their own.
