Hey everyone! Since I've been meaning to do this for awhile now..I figured better late than never! So here is the first four of what I hope to be many reveiws. And since I'm not sure if we're supposed to be tagging these ourselves yet or not..I haven't done so. If we are supposed to tag entries ourselves, just let me know and I'll be sure to do that from now on. ^.^
Dee: John Dee: master of science, alchemy and magic, Hermetic philosopher in the schools of Rosicrucian Christian Mysticism and Platonic-Pythagorean doctrine, and Queen Elizabeth’s astrologer, advisor, cryptologist and spy. With Edward Kelly, he created a field of study and work in Angelic Evocation, and isolated the Angelic language: Enochian. His scent is soft English leather, rosewood and tonka with a hint of incense, parchment and soft woods.
Just sniffing from the bottle. all I could get was leather and some incense. After putting it on and letting it dry for a bit it went to just divine smelling on me! The leather becomes very soft and the rosewood and incense comes out in a very soft, warm spiciness. And it lasts all day! None of the fadeout I get with some other scents. While it's listed as a neutral blend..this would smell wonderful on a guy I'm sure. It's also become one of my favorite scents.
Highwayman: Vetiver with gardenia, blood red rose, night-blooming jasmine, a dash of cinnamon and a faint hint of leather.
In the bottle I get leather, some rose, and alot of floral (I say floral because I can't distinctly smell either the gardenia or the jasmine). Once I put it on it was mainly sharp leather and heavy rose. At this point I wasn't sure if I'd keep it or not. After a bit though, the leather and rose dies back a bit and the cinnamon comes in just a little as does the gardenia and it's actually a pretty nice, very warm scent on me. I would say though if you don't like rose and leather, you might want to stay away from this since they are very dominate notes at the start.
Fenris Wolf: The raw, untamable power of chaos. Rosewood, amber, red musk and a dribble of red sandalwood.
I have to say I bought this one strictly on the name. I've read others say that sniffing the bottle reminds them of pencil shavings, and I have to admit that it does indeed remind me of the same thing. But at the same time, for some reason it's also a very comforting smell to me. After putting it on and letting it dry down, it became a very warm, woody scent, with the rosewood and sandalwood being dominant. While the lab description says it's the raw, untamable power of chaos, for me it's a very comforting scent. To be honest, if Remus Lupin were real, this is what I'd imagine him smelling like.
Satyr: Unleash the bawdy, unrestrained passion of the satyr! A ferociously masculine scent: sexual, vigorous, and truly wild.
In the bottle this is a very dark oil. Sniffing the bottle I get three things: Spicy, woodsy, and musky. My best description is Fenris Wolf with cinnamon and sex mixed in. I love this one however! After I put it on and it dries, the spiciness falls back a little, and it's more of a mellow musky/woodsy scent after that. It's not the laid back scent I get from F. Wolf, but something more playful. If I like it this well on me..just think how much I'd like it on the hubby!
