Does anything else smell like Wanda? I got a new bottle today and for me it has changed in a bad way. I'm so sad and need to find a replacement for it. There is no sweet wine, no rose, just leather and a sharp hairspray smell :( sobs, woe, general misery...

Maybe it just needs to sit for a month & blend/age?

How about whip? leather & rose, maybe layered with CT which is nearly pure wine on me.

Oh sorry. CT = Centoin ... oh hell. Gotta look up the spelling. There's a reason I call it CT. Ah! CENTZON TOTOCHTIN - Bittersweet Mexican cocoa with rum, red wine, and a scent redolent of sacrificial blood. Though on my skin, it comes out nearly purely red wine. Lovely. No cocoa though. On others it does the opposite. Still, I think it's worth a shot.

Thanks...I'm getting an imp of that, I think...I'll have to see what weirdness it does on my skin.

maybe so, but this is NASTY. I'm even afraid of CT because what if they changed the wine in it? I emailed the lab for more info, cause this is way beyond a subtle scent shift. I expect those and they are even part of the treat of opening new bottles. I am so sad about this cause wanda was one of my favorite GC's. I swear someone poured hairspray or industrial solvent in this bottle :( But thanks for the reminder about CT cause I do like it.

:( Okay, that's truly tragic then. Maybe you could decant an imp from the new bottle and force age it the way people were doing with the revisited Three Witches? I would be totally bummed if CT were wrecked. I don't wear it often, but I find the wine scent to be truly decadent when I do.... oh dammit, now I want to go put on CT and I'm not at home! (visiting my SO, only brought a half dozen imps with me, CT not being one. phoo!)

I asked someone to sniff what stock the lab has and Sara said it all smelled the same so a new bottle is out. She also said she could understand what I didn't like about it. they will replace the bottle for me but now I'm scared. I'll get over it, but after 2 years with BPAL this is the first time there has been this dramatic a change with something NOT marked reformulated. I kinda wish Beth was around for me to pick her brain on this one. The lab is SO awesomely accomodation but I just feel at odds, I hope nothing else has changed like that. Myrrh and opium are the only two notes that go hairspray on me that I know of, and this smells like it has all of a suddden got one of those in it.

Huh. Maybe the lab got a bad batch of "red wine SN" or one of the ingredients if "red wine" is a bouquet.

Did Beth on vacation or some such? (It wouldn't suprise me if I missed an announcement.) I'm sure when she's back she'll have something to say about it.

Oh well. Good luck. It's bed time for me.
