One of the things about growing up on the plains is that there was always something kind of seductive about the smell of grass fires. It's sort of toasty and a little dangerous but reassuring. I'm kind of new to BPAL, but as soon as I got into it, I started looking for something like that. Is there a BPAL that's kind of like that?

You might want to try Scarecrow. I haven't tried it, but it sounds like it might work based on the description: An agricultural gargoyle. Though he is the Guardian of the Crops and Keeper of the Fields, his visage is still the stuff of nightmares. The scent of a hot wind blowing through desolate, scorched, barren fields.

I second Scarecrow. It's definitely a dry scent. Also take a look at Ozymandius and Coyote. :)

I'd try Scarecrow. I forget if it's a general catalogue scent or a discontinued/limited edition.

I also recommend Scarecrow, Coyote and Ozymandias. Scarecrow is definitely the more burning of those, but the other two are very grasslandy. Best of all, all three are general catalogue. :D

My other fire-y favorites are Djinn (An ancient, free-willed race created from the essence of Fire The scent of black smoke, of crackling flames, and smoldering ashes), Fire Eater (A glowing red and flickering scent: warm, lurid, seductive - this is an LE though. It made me think of camp fires), Inferno (The Dark Side of Fire: cinnamon, bitter almond, and neroli. Heavily spiced, torrid, and possibly conflagrant - this irritated my skin but smelled lovely), and The Bloody Sword (Blood is too precious a thing in these days of dishonourable peace, and the glories of the great races are as a tale that is told. A distillation of force, conquest, power and fury: dragon’s blood, myrrh, black pepper, labdanum, benzoin, leather, fire, and steel. This one may not be what you're looking for though, as it's far more blood and metal versus land and fire. Also ( ... )
