Carnaval Diabolique: Act II: The Snake Pit
Temple Viper: Snake Oil with sugar cane, frankincense, champaca, opoponax, labdanum, and hyssop.

Wet, the hyssop is noticeable as a slightly-anisey floral sweetness overlaying the champaca's richer creamy floral. The frankincense is mainly providing structure and body to everything else without being noticeable as a separate component. No sign of the typical Snake Oil smell yet.

As it dries down, the sugar becomes quite strong. It's not caramelized or fruity like Sugar Skull. It's more like the sugar from Smut although the heavy musks are completely absent. It's slightly vanilla like the jar of vailla sugar I have at home, but nothing like the cloying scent called Warm Vanilla Sugar at B & BW. It's pure candy sweetness, and even though there's no fruit it reminds me a little of Hollywood Babylon. The florals and the resins, which are starting to peep out more under the sugar, make this a very grown-up sweet scent. This girl isn't jailbait, but she probably is a sister at one of the brainier sororities. Still no sign of Snake Oil, but this scent is gorgeous and I am liking it more and more. It reminds me somewhat of a lighter Trick #1, without so much musk or intensity.

Verdict: keep imp, maybe purchase bottle.
