This morning I posited a topic at
ljover30 regarding a
the "rejuvenile" movement and how fascinating I found it, since it's a serious issue in my own life. ;) I didn't get a lot of play on the topic, sadly, but as you can see,
the author himself stopped by to give me props.
That's hawt. :) I have definitely inherited my parents' ability to sniff out famous people through completely unlikely circumstances.
Jayne calls that something, but I forget what her phrase was.
In other news, I had a wonderful, relaxing weekend. After the glory that was "SOAP," and the highly amusing 200th episode of "SG-1," I spent Saturday shopping in Baltimore. I got some new earrings and a few magazines, but my quest for sunglasses was an abject failure. I don't mind spending $100 for a quality pair of shades, but everything is in these '80's retro aviator styles that eat up half your face when you wear them. Not for me.
Saturday eve was Requiem, chock full of great RP, excellent political twists, and fun plot developments. The game was slow to get started, and the beastly heat was exacerbated by a very ghetto birthday party across the street, complete with little hardrock gangstas on minibikes. Still, once things got rolling, they never stopped. Kudos to Pip for running the entire game by his lonesome. :)
Afterwards,
The Gillfather and I hit
dcmidnight to celebrate
the Goth Queen's birthday. It was great to see all the old friends and regulars, and I spent much of my time chatting with
Sarah. She's very cool, and I can't wait for her to do the right thing and move back here. :)
There was an embarrassing moment wherein my car got blocked in by someone in the back alley parking lot, which led to Syxx calling them to get me out. It was mad cool to have Syxx say "He's cool, don't mess with him." :)
Sunday Mike and I drove out to Nokesville for Scott's birthday party. It was a relaxing time, full of old friends I haven't seen in months or years, good food, great war stories, and my attempts to find swimsuits that fit. :) I had hoped that the
Claire Bear would be in attendance, and indeed she was, along with Bad, Bad Tom Brown, Finn, and Holly from up north. >) There was also a rumor that the Internet meme which calls itself
Jayson Bright manifested, but this is hearsay at best and probably should not be trusted. :)
