This entry has your stupid fuckin' rope!

The new Covenant CD is a monster. I'm loving it so far. It's reminiscent of the journey Ronan took with VNV between "Futureperfect" and "Matter & Form." Apparently someone slapped up Eskil and said he had to come with the hard shit once again. :)

I am proud to say that I did almost nothing of value this weekend. I spend so much time on business, networking, and socializing during the week that I like to use my weekends to do nothing but veg, exercise, watch DVD's, and handle whatever other business comes along. Friday night I hung out at
Greg's swanky pad, watching "BSG," talking, and chilling. His condo's roof has a great view of the city skyscape. Lovely stuff.

Last night I invoked memetic magic to manifest at dcmidnight. It was a great crowd--lots of faces old and new. In fact, it was a little uncomfortable having so many people crammed into such a small space, especially since we can't use the back hallway to hang out anymore. Regardless, I had a great time listening to
Toni's killer set, meeting her friend Danny (A frighteningly smart economist who has sideburns like Wolverine's mixed with
Matthew's), running into
Jade, and arguing with
Tony about whether the Treo 650 is better than the Treo 700w. Here's a hint: Bigger ain't necessarily better.

I made a mix CD for Toni as a "thank you" for the awesome mixes she made for me, and not only was she totally enamored of it, she paid me a high compliment by saying I could be a DJ in my own right. :) This is actually something I'm pondering seriously--I've been pondering over the idea of creating a new event, and if I am to do so, it stands to reason I should throw down on the wheels of steel myself.

I also chatted with
Gill about advertising for Requiem. I'm a little concerned that the local Requiem universe is suffering from a lack of numbers, particularly since the OWBN games all seem to be having a resurgence of attendance. It's logical, I suppose--people are so busy and have so many obligations--and there're so many games as it is--that when they get a chance to play, they'd rather play their established, comfortable PC's than waste precious leisure time trying something unfamiliar. I gave him a few ideas on how to improve attendance, some of which I'll be implementing myself. ;)

Today I'm off to the grocery store and cleaning my living room, then watching "Oldboy" on DVD, before gearing up for the return of The Sopranos!

By the way, if you're interested in the mix I did for Toni, here's the playlist.
