Subject Matter Expert
My numerological horoscope this week said I would achieve one dream and build the foundations of another. I assumed that meant finally nailing a job that works for me, but as is often the case with all things astrological, the prophecy fulfilled itself in unexpected ways.
Today
Sam hooked me up with a netroots organizer for a Democratic Senate candidate out in the Northwest. Said organizer was looking for information on net neutrality--a topic I know a little something about.
One very detailed and verbose e-mail later, and we're on the docket for a conference call with this guy (The candidate, mind you) to help him build his strategy and policy on this very important issue. It really was just that easy.
This could turn out to go absolutely nowhere, but it could also turn out to be the foundation of an entirely new direction and career track for me. Pretty soon I'll be one of those evil fatcat consultants who get paid huge sums of money to help candidates lose elections every cycle. ;) In all seriousness, it's pretty cool and exciting--now I just have to figure out more ways to make this work on a regular basis! ;)
