Log for Kang and Daniel Jackson, post-Daisychain.

It was hot outside. Hot enough that the draconians in the quarry were using their wings to cool themselves at any available opportunity. Even after six years, reconstruction of Teyr was still under way; the past few days, though, production had slowed due to another project.

They'd found something big hidden among the stone.

A baaz had noticed the symbols on the odd metal first, and had used a piece of charcoal and paper to get some rubbings. It took a day for the full report to reach Kang, and upon recognizing one of the symbols as one he'd seen on Daniel's uniform, he'd ordered it excavated immediately.

After a week of hard work, the circle had been uncovered, and what only Kang could tell was a console of a sort. He knew it had to be a stargate, from his human friend's description. None of them had any clue how to work it, though, and he wasn't about to start messing with it and break the damn thing.

He was there in person that day, staring at that one familiar symbol, and running a hand over it. He'd thought he'd never get to see Daniel again, but now... now there was a chance. Not only that, but if they could learn how to use it, they'd have access to technology on other worlds that no one else on Krynn had ever dreamed of, not even the gnomes. Hell, probably even the gods.

"Governor?"

Kang turned, hand still on the symbol, "Yes?"

"What exactly is this thing?" a sivak asked, watching him.

"A link between worlds."

"Between worlds? There's others out there?"

Smiling, Kang nodded, "There are."

Before the sivak could respond, the symbols began to spin. Both of them backed up a step, watching as said symbols stopped, one of the seven trapezoids shifting and lighting up, and the process began all over again.

"Everyone back!"

His orders were followed immediately, every single draconian present staring at the ring warily, hands dropping to their weapons. The symbols stopped and started six more times, each time activating a new trapezoid. The last one landed on the familiar symbol, and something that looked like... water exploded several feet out of one end before retreating back to the ring.

Not even a wing twitched for several seconds.

Then, something came through the water-like substance.

A baaz with a crossbow aimed asked, "Governor?"

Kang held up a hand, speaking very clearly, "Hold."

((Every single word has been in Nerakese. :D))
