So I've been playing with the new Genius function in the latest release of iTunes, and I've been quite pleased with the resulting playlists. I've also been reasonably impressed by the recommendations it makes.
I just finished listening to a playlist based from The Cure's A Forest and ended up listening, quite randomly, to a good number of songs from the Donnie Darko soundtrack. I say randomly, because the tracks were all picked off other albums, as I don't actually have that soundtrack. And the rest of selections were good, too. I think I'm going to save it.
For those of you who are interested, more recent photos of my house are up
here. I was given a planter with some herbs for my housewarming party, and this past weekend I transplanted them to the bigger planters outside my front door. They smell great; I'll wait until they've grown more before I start actually using them.
Liverpool played on Sunday and it was a very rough game. At half time we were down 2-0, but through two Torres goals we drew level, and Dirk Kuyt scored the winner late on. City went down to ten men after nasty slide tackle on Xabi Alonsi gave the ref no hesitation in showing a red card to Pablo Zabaleta. Later, though, Martin Skrtel had to be stretchered off the pitch after falling badly and bending his knee the wrong way. Latest news is that he damaged his PCL (Posterior Cruciate Ligament) and will likely be out for the rest of the year, and maybe until Easter. That's really disappointing, because he was really taking hold of his role in the back. So another victory for Liverpool, but since Chelsea also won, we remain second in the table due to a smaller goal difference while first equal on points.
This coming weekend is international weekend, which is good timing because I have a lot on. First, my very good friends Tim and Kris get married on Friday night, and then John's daughter celebrates her first birthday on Sunday (a couple of days early, but you know how it goes). Liverpool's next match is on the 18th, with Wigan coming to Anfield. I'll post a reminder about that next week.
