No, not that kind of quickie.
161, 178, 168. A fine way to end the regular season - I got my average back up to 159 (still about 7 or 8 less than it should be), though an argument could be made for trying to drop my average so that I'll have a higher handicap in the playoffs. Of course, I would never do that, at least not on purpose...
I had a brief chat with the guy I mentioned two weeks ago, and he completely understood. He's such a sweetheart. :)
After bowling, I headed directly to the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Eglinton, for Ad Astra started tonight. Registration had closed before I arrived, so I sat in the lobby with some friends and caught up, and collected many hugs from people as they walked by, as well as a traditional mutual ass grab with
briankit. :) I was feeling a bit thirsty, so after a while I went up to the con suite with Terry Fong, as we were discussing Anticipation matters. However, I got pulled aside while getting myself a drink and never did get to complete the conversation. Well, there's the rest of the weekend for that. I also issued a verbal invitation to an author to be a Polaris 22 guest, and he responded with a verbal acceptance. No names until I have a signed contract, though. ;) (That should be tomorrow, with an update on the website to follow.)
I left around 1:45 after being nagged by
dx4, as he knew that I have to be back over at the hotel for 8 in the morning. The bus schedule outside the hotel was, however, as fictional as all the others in this city, and the alleged 1:52 and 2:06 buses never materialized. I finally got on the bus at 2:24. Perhaps I should have just bitten the bullet and gotten a room, and come home after bowling to get two changes of clothes and my toiletries. But since the hotel's so close, it seems silly not to sleep in my own bed. I'll probably regret that decision when the alarm goes off in about three hours...
