Bowling was terrible tonight. There was no oil on the lanes, and instead of a slight inward hook from the right side of the lane, my ball was veering way off, so I had to bowl from the left side instead and try to throw the ball across the centre. I only managed a 156, 121 and 135, and that 156 was only due to having a strong finish. This was my worst week of the year to date - I lost four pins off my average tonight. :( (It probably wasn't as bad as the weeks I tried to bowl a few years ago right after I hurt my elbow, admittedly.)
It should have been a quick night, as Mario, Randy and
h8torun were all away, but the other team had all five of their bowlers tonight and they tended to be slow. Plus, tonight was the annual Hallowe'en costume contest - which, for the first time in my memory, wasn't won by whichever guy showed up in the most outrageous drag. In fact, our opponents tonight were the winners - they were wearing foam bowling pin and ball costumes.
I got home at 11 or so, after a quick stop to pick up a Quarter Pounder meal at McDonald's (I hadn't eaten since lunch, and didn't feel like cooking), and spent the rest of the night watching stuff I taped while I was at Gaylaxicon and Con*Cept. Two episodes of Torchwood, two of Blood Ties, and one of Desperate Housewives. I did seem to have screwed up setting my VCR and missed an episode. The one I did get was hilarious - it involved Bree breaking into a neighbour's house to try to steal her lemon meringue pie recipe - but reading an online recap, it seems I missed a few important plot points from the missing episode. :(
So now I just have this past week's House and Boston Legal and tonight's Torchwood to watch. But tomorrow afternoon I have email to catch up on and laundry to do first.
