King's Cross was bustling, but with slightly less fervour than in previous years. Hogwarts students were arrived at platform 9, the older ones meeting friends with smiles and hugs, and the first years looking around nervously or clinging to their parents.
"Hurry up!" someone's mother could be heard shrieking. "The train leaves in ten!"
