What's suffocating are the parents, teachers and the education system;u stick to your one size fit all approach and take it for granted if the system has been working for all these years, it will continue to work.
Please bear in mind that every child is an unique individual, and do not attempt to manage your child like a robot, you aren't suppose to let the child programme to master every little thing in life. There's no end towards learning, our world class leaders in the country SM LKY has already proved us that. Your child might not master the linguistic skills you hope he could acquire, but at least you know he made an attempt.
