Last September Vivien Dean and Pepper Espinoza published a series of three books titled Calling of Souls. The common thread for this series? Priests. I read No Fear in Love by Jamie Craig (Vivien and Pepper's co-authoring pen name) and If All The Sand Were Pearl by Pepper Espinoza upon their release. I enjoyed both of those books tremendously. That's why I find it hard to explain why the third book in the series languished in my TBR pile until today. All I can say is that the blurb just wasn't driving me to pick the book up.
Then today I saw a reference to the book in my Flist and decided to give it a shot. *head desk* Why did I wait so long!

This book is fantastic. In fact, in my opinion, it is the best in the series. The premise is intriguing. The paranormal hook is creative without being overdone. The romance factor is high and the angst factor is low. Excellent! What I like best about Walk Among Us is the lyrical writing (great metaphors!), and the incredibly well written characters, particularly Matthew. Matthew stole my heart!
This is a fantastic paranormal novella with a hefty dose of romance. If you need a sweet read to close your week, give this one a try. You won't regret it.
