... yes, every time I buy or use things to assist with daily living I think about that song from Team America. Damn catchy bad taste tunes. It merited an icon but I can't find one ( Read more... )

Thanks for this. I'm sure this will be helpful to lots of people. I will direct friends of mine here, and a few items might be useful for me too.
I wouldn't hesitate opening a paypal claim if you're unsatisfied with some items and the sellers aren't bothering to answer your messages, seriously.

If you're going to do that then I'll make it a public entry. :)

And most of the sellers are being okay, but yeah I might have to get the claims out.

Sure; I only went FO because certain anons were squicky about my sex life, there's not much I write that I wouldn't be comfortable sharing with the wider web.

And I made the avatar especially for this - I suddenly thought I need spoon related icons for these situations and a google and roflbot later... XD

for tea cups - I've got a big old camping cup - its double walled plastic with a massive handle, so I can hook my hand through it and not burn my hand on the cup, and if I do drop it I loose very little

I need those soda bottle openers though. I think I am off to boots tomorrow!

This has been very helpful :)

I've got one like that, a pretty shiny blue thermos one, and it does have the well sized 7 shaped handle plus some textured grippy bits to stop it slipping on wet hands and a reasonably spill proof optional lid you can drink through. Plus a beat up metal mug.
They are great, and have the added advantage of when I'm being dozy and forget I ever made myself a drink it's often warm when I find it again!

But that's not the same as being able to hold a teacup, and i have ones like this mug gathering dust:

aww that is cute!

Someone needs to make like a clear plexi cup holder, that will fit around any cup but give people like us a good grip on it without being noticeable!

I had a breakthrough, sortof, this morning. Have you heard of Sugru? Maybe it would help you make stuff you own easier to use? http://sugru.com/

It's pretty amazing. Bonds to practically everything and is super easy to use. I've fixed a couple of broken things with it and just ordered some more. It's cheap too!

I keep coming back to this post - need to get the plug thingies, I have to unplug my coffee machine to plug in the toaster until my lovely husband puts in the new sockets for me, so yeah. Breakfast pisses me off on a whole new level LOL

edit: I've also found some very good, uh, 'marital aids' too and am happy to review those too if anyone's interested?
Yes. :)

I got a Rock Chick for its hands free approach, unfortunately my back is so knackered I have yet to try it :( I got it from www.nicennaughty.co.uk
