Chapter Fourteen: Unearthly Predicament
-=The Third Day=-
11:58 PM
The Eleven had already disappeared by the time CJ and Jen had unleashed three shots each. The group of friends immediately started looking around, searching for any sign of the alien invaders.
“What the hell? How did they get out of the way so fast?” Natalie asked.
“We told you. They can move extremely fast. I’m more surprised they didn’t just reflect the bullets back at us.” Jen said.
“We need to find them. As much as I hate the idea, split off into groups of two. That way we’re not alone. Don’t move too far away though; if any of us gets in too much trouble, we want to be at a distance to get to them.” Everyone nodded in agreement. Sam tapped Garret and motioned for Liza to follow them as well, and then they started walking away from the fire. Everyone did something similar; Paula with Natalie, Samfa with Cameron, Tony with Haley and Jeff, CJ with Jen. The friends moved at a slow and easy pace, searching around every corner, prepared for a surprise attack. Just then, snow started to fall from the sky down onto Revere; a heavy, thick snow. It fell hard and fast; narrowing the vision of all of them.
This was not going to be an easy fight.
Samantha and Cameron walked slowly towards the remains of the movie theatre, moving around cars with great care. Flipped vehicles were everywhere and numerous as they got closer to the destroyed entrance. Cameron held his katana carefully out in front of him and Samantha held her bo with both hands, ready to strike.
“Where could they have gone?” Cameron asked her, quietly.
“I don’t know but I think they wanted to split us up like this. I don’t like it.” She said back quickly.
“As long as we keep our wits about ourselves, we should be fine.” He said back as he turned his head to look at her. He flashed her a quick, reassuring nod.
“Hello child.” A strangely guttural voice said from in front of him, right out of his view.
Shit.
He was already half way traveling through the air before he actually even felt the cold, hard fist hit him in the face. His body sprawled awkwardly and he flipped heels over head. His dazed and somewhat shattered view managed to see the cold hard pavement rushing up to meet him before he actually felt it this time.
That didn’t stop it from hurting.
He hit the ground hard and rolled, feeling his skin get cuts. He stopped suddenly as he hit something hard and he groaned in agony, the pain over-whelming him quickly now that he had stopped. He could barely hear Samantha yelling his name. He felt another hand reach down and clasp his shirt and felt himself get heaved up. He came face to face with the one known as Levita, grinning wickedly. He could barely see out of his right eye because of the swelling but his left eye was perfectly clear. Grinning wickedly. She leaned her head in close to him.
“One punch too much for you, boy?” She asked him. Then she snickered.
Cameron’s anger overtook his pain and he ground his teeth. He summoned up and then spit in her face, a mixture or saliva and blood. She reacted angrily, pulling her head back and snarling. Her left hand came up to wipe it away.
“No, I guess not. You’ll just have to do better.” He couldn’t feel the katana in his hands anymore; he must have dropped it mid-flight. But as she managed to wipe away his spit, he raised his left hand up, rearing it back to punch. He may be hurt, but he sure wasn’t going out without putting up a fight.
Meanwhile, Samantha struggled to catch her own breath as she had watched Cameron get sent flying at least twenty feet. She spun quickly to see what had hit him only to find the elderly Pretori, Hragen, standing there. She didn’t stare bewildered long; Samantha was always good at preparing herself even when surprised. She measured the distance between him and she quickly, calculated he was within hitting distance, and took action. She spun the bo around in an arc and took a strike at his head. It was direct, it was perfect.
But he was quicker.
He caught the bo in his right hand, not even half a foot away from hitting him. His gauntlet-covered hand wrapped around it tightly. He moved his ancient eyes to look at it.
“Sticks, my child? How medieval.” His soft, guttural voice croaked out from his throat. With a quick yank, he had pulled it loose of her grip. He, himself, went into a spin with it and retaliated with a strike of his own. This attack struck Samantha on the left side of her ribcage. She let out a yell of pain fell to her right knee, clutching her side. The breath had been knocked out of her and the pain had felt like a freight train hitting her. He moved over to her slowly, a weak smile on his face. She looked up at him, hatred in her eyes.
“That hurt that much, did it? Well then.” He said, looking down at the bo. Suddenly his Thyren machine whirred to life and electricity started sparking in its core. Then there was a flash and Samantha could see electricity running through her bo. It had a bright glow to it and sparks shot off of its hard wood surface. He looked at her again. “Let’s see how this feels then, shall we dear?”
Her anger was fierce but she knew she couldn’t do anything. She clamped her teeth down hard as he swung at her again.

Jen and CJ moved quickly through the debris, utilizing their police training to keep a lot out while covering ground quickly. They kept their backs to each other for the most part, watching each others weak spots. And they always had their pistols ahead of them, ready to fire at any time. The snow had started to get heavier now and their feet crunched on the new powder on the ground.
“I don’t see anything. You?” CJ asked her.
“Nothing. At least, not yet.” She responded to him. She looked up at the parking lot light that was above them. It’s amazing that they managed to turn all these lights on while at the same time it’s terrifying. She thought.
CJ was busy searching the wreckage for any sign of movement. So far, everything stood still as it was covered in snow. He raised his left hand and brushed the snow off his head. He shook his head quickly. Then he looked up.
Something moved.
He saw a shadow or figure move around near a pile of wrecked cars. He reached back and tapped Jen’s back. She turned her head to look at him. He waved his hand towards the pile of cars, signaling her to move with him towards there. She nodded. They both raised their guns and made their way to the pile. As he got closer, he noticed that the pile was in the middle of an open area; there was no destruction around the area of the cars. CJ tightened his grip on his pistol, immediately seeing this as a threat and not a coincidence.
When they reached the pile, two figures appeared out of nowhere, climbing out of nowhere. Jen turned and saw them and raised her gun again quickly. But she stopped.
The twins, Yigi and Turjon, had stepped on top of the pile and with them; they both carried a single destroyed car. Without a second more, they quickly pulled their bodies back and heaved the car towards Jen and CJ. CJ grabbed Jen by her coat and yanked her backwards and both of them leapt back towards the way they came. The car fell right in front of them and as they hit the ground, they felt its impact shake the ground around them. It skidded a little on the snow but didn’t get nearly as close to them as CJ thought it would. Apparently they weren’t actually trying to hit us. He thought. They’re just playing with us. That made him angry. Jen and him recovered quickly and crawled over to the car. They pressed their backs to it.
“Alright Jen, you watch them and cover me. I’m going to pop up and see if maybe I can hit them. Sound good?” She nodded and spun around to look. He took a breath and then proceeded to start jumping up to shoot. “No!” He heard. But it was too late.
What Jen had seen was that Yigi was holding onto a car door in his right hand. His Thyren machine was running and electricity was pooling through the metallic door. Just as Jen had turned to look at them, he looked right at her. His right eye closed in a wink although his face remained unfeeling and blank. And then just as she heard CJ take a deep breath, he pulled the door back and flung it towards them like a Frisbee. A giant metallic electrified car door Frisbee. She yelled “No!” to CJ but knew it was too late. She reacted. She quickly moved to her left and dove against CJ, tackling him. She heard the car door rip through the car, the metal tearing metal sound agonizing loud. They both flew through the air out of the way of the full force. But suddenly Jen felt something sharp slice horizontally through the top of her back. This was quickly followed by the feeling of electricity shooting into her back and zapping her. Both she and CJ hit the ground hard and she immediately rolled off of him, screaming in pain. He back arched and gripped the snowy ground hard. CJ didn’t wait a second; he jumped up and turned her onto her stomach. A gash had cut across her upper back and blood was starting to run down her police uniform. Her screams died down into groans.
“Jen! Say something to me.” He yelled at her.
She groaned then, very weakly, responded with “It burns.” CJ looked around for something to help her. Then he realized. He reached down and grabbed a pile of snow in both his hands. He brought that over her back and quickly dropped it onto the open wound. She yelled again. He pushed down on the wound with the snow, packing it on top of it.
“You alright partner? He asked her.
“It hurts but the snow is helping. Thanks.” She said softly, trying not to move.
“Of course. You saved me.” He said. But then he realized that the twins were probably still there. He slowly moved his gun up his side. He tried to look like he was still helping her. Then he turned hard and quickly towards the pile, raising his gun and fired two shots.
Into nothing.
They weren’t there anymore. He quickly looked around, holding his gun out in front of him. Then he slowly got up. He felt something tap his foot. He looked down to see Jen tapping him with her gun. He reached down and picked up her gun, now dual-wielding pistols.
“Where are they?” She asked.
“I don’t know.” He said. But just as he said that, he saw shadows starting to move everywhere, darting in and out of his vision. Behind cars and rubble and other objects. He spun around, trying to follow them. But they were too fast. He couldn’t keep up with them. It made him angry.
“You bastards! Come out and fight!” He yelled and immediately started firing away. He fired anywhere he saw a shadow, both pistols spraying bullets across the parking lot. He spun around, shooting everywhere he could. He spread his arms apart, shooting in opposite directions and not even looking.
That was his mistake.
He felt the sharp end of a blade slide by is right shin, cutting it. Then right after, his left shin. He let out a yelp of pain, which caused him to stop shooting. He looked down to see only small cuts, nothing deep. It hadn’t even really hurt.
But it had distracted him.
He looked up just in time to see the boot come flying into his chest. He was sent flying back, both pistols dropping from his hands. He flew maybe ten feet; before he felt something rock-hard hit his back, knocking the wind out of him more. He slid down this quickly and then something equally as hard, although not nearly as large, fell and whacked him on the head on his way down. His feet hit the ground but he did not stand.
He fell face first onto the ground though not unconscious, extremely dazed. He knew that he couldn’t react to anything now and that he and Jen were all but dead. He struggled to raise his head and managed to raise it enough to look out to her. He could see that one of the twins held her up by her neck. And the other one was marching over to him.

“Take this!”
Paula and Natalie didn’t get the satisfaction of making it more than 90 feet away from the fire pit before encountering the extremely strong Pretori Urgantava. They both looked up in time to see a large piece of cement hurled through the air towards them. Without even a glance at each other, both girls ran forward and dove under a car leaning against a debris pile, balancing on its two wheels away from them. The cement hit the icy hard cement of the parking lot and exploded into tiny pieces. Paula and Natalie covered themselves as the pieces were flung in all directions, even towards them. They heard Urgantava laughing; a deep, strong bellowing that sounded almost unintelligent. Both girls shook and brushed off the rubble and dust from them.
“What’s the matter? Can’t fight me?” He asked, not really expecting an answer. He laughed again, this time even louder.
Natalie gripped her sai tightly and looked at Paula. “This guy seems really annoying.” She said bluntly.
“He also doesn’t seem that smart. Maybe we can outsmart him.” Paula said, taking out one of her knives.
“I don’t see that happening anytime soon.” A voice said from outside their protection. Both girls turned their heads quickly to see Geintz, bent down looking at them. But before either one of them could react, his Thyren machine shot two bolts of electricity and engulfed the girls. They shook as the electricity ran through their bodies and they struggled to move but their bodies wouldn’t let them. Suddenly they felt like they were being pulled out from under the car. It didn’t take them long to realize that Geintz was actually pulling them out using the lightning. Once he had them clear of the car, the lightning stopped. Both girls groaned, smoke coming off of their bodies, pieces of their clothes burned. Geintz reached down and grabbed Natalie by the back of her shirt. Suddenly, she felt herself getting flung. She flew through the air, her body like a rag doll. She hit the ground hard, her hands letting go of her sai. She groaned again but started to regain some control of her body. She looked over to where the sai lay and started crawling over there. She reached out and grasped both of them, a sigh of relief emitting from her mouth for being armed again. But then she felt a large hand wrap around her left leg and yank her backwards. She slid across the snowy ground and then stopped. She spun onto her back to look up at the massively tall Urgantava standing over her. He had a grin on his face.
“Hello there.” He said slowly, with such malice that it cut through the air. Then he quickly raised his right foot up, aiming for her chest. Natalie reacted quickly. She rolled to her left, dodging just in time as the foot slammed in the ground where she had just been. She got up to her knees and looked at him again. Now Urgantava had pulled his right fist back and was preparing to throw a punch. As he unleashed it and it traveled towards her, Natalie quickly pulled sai up in front of her. Then, by putting all her body weight into the push, she used the sai to reflect the Thyren covered fist from hitting her and instead forced it into the ground. The ground shook a little from his fist but Natalie didn’t wait to feel that. She quickly jumped from her knees to her feet and then jumped again and, with all her strength, smashed the butt of her left sigh into Urgantava’s head. He reeled back, shouting in pain. This left him wide open. Natalie ran forward, ready to sink the sai into this monster’s stomach. From afar, it sounded like Geintz had yelled something. Paula must be putting up a fight against him too. Maybe they would win.
But Urgantava recovered quickly and thrust his right hand forward to grab Natalie by the neck. She gagged and he hoistered her up off the ground, choking her. But Natalie broke free. She quickly spun her right sai around and stabbed it down into Urgantava’s arm. He yelled again, this time louder and with more agony and let her go. Natalie fell to the ground and her left sai clattered away from her. She quickly turned and clambered up to get it but Urgantava had again, amazingly, recovered. This time he grabbed her from behind and wrapped his entire right arm up into her neck. She was choking again. But she still had her right sai. She raised it up to stab him in the same spot again. But he was ready this time. He grabbed her hand with his left and started to crush her hand. She tried to scream but couldn’t manage. Finally it caused too much pain and she let go of the sai. It fell heavily to the ground.
Now Natalie struggled, grabbing at Urgantava’s arm, head, body, anything she could get her hands on. She was losing oxygen fast and her strength was failing her. She punched anything she could manage to hit. But Urgantava held her strong and laughed. Soon her punches became weak and her body started to hang. She got very dizzy and she felt her eyes start to droop. The last thing she saw before she lost consciousness was Geintz walking over on top of the pile of debris, dragging Paula by her arm right behind him.

Tony and Haley walked slowly, Tony leading ahead of her. They held hands tightly while also holding their bos. They had made it to a small area with no destruction and were now looking around.
“Do you think everyone’s alright, Tony?” Haley asked him, looking around slowly.
“Probably about as alright as anyone can be right now.” He answered. He led her over to a car that was missing all its doors. “Here, sit down here for a second.” He said.
“Where are you going?” She asked him, scared that he was going to leave her.
“Nowhere, sweet heart. I’m going to climb up on top of this car and see what I can see.” He said. He squeezed her hand reassuringly. “Don’t you worry, I’d never leave you.”
She nodded and pulled his face in, kissing him quickly. He jumped up on top of the car she was sitting in and walked up the windshield and onto the roof. He stared out into the rest of the parking lot and beyond, into the dark night.
“What do you see?’ She asked him, watching everywhere else.
“Not much-“ He started. Suddenly, right in front of Haley, the youngest of the Pretori, Beniyta, landed. He must have jump from a fair distance from none of them to notice him. He stood staring at Haley, as she struggled to find the words to say something. He took a step towards her.
But Tony had noticed him and was already in action. He quickly brought his bo up and he leapt from the top of the car towards the young Beniyta. He looked up in time to see the larger man flying through the air towards him and just as Tony brought his bo down to clock Beniyta on the head, he raised his gauntlet and blocked the wooden stick from hitting him. Tony landed, the stick held hard by the Pretori, but he didn’t wait for the alien to retaliate. Tony quickly pulled the bo from the gauntlet and swung it again, this time aiming for the boy’s left side. Once again, Beniyta blocked but this time grasped the bo and yanked, pulling Tony closer to him. They were face to face.
“You’ve got some skill, human.” Beniyta said, a pompous smirk painted across his face.
“Who are you judge my skill?” Tony said and quickly reared his head back and slammed it forward, head-butting the boy. Beniyta was taken aback by this and stumbled backward. Tony quickly continued, stabbed the stick underneath the boy and pulled up quickly, into Beniyta’s crotch. The boy’s eyes bugged out and he gasped, grasping his groin. He stumbled back more and fell to his knees. Tony couldn’t help but smirk. Most skilled warriors, my ass. He thought. He stepped forward and swung the bo in an arc, aiming for the boy’s neck.
Panitil’s fist met Tony’s face first, smashing into the left side of the attacking Tony. His bo dropped harmlessly next to Beniyta as Tony flew ten feet then hit the ground, unmoving. Panitil pulled his right hand back and looked towards Beniyta. He snuffed angrily. “You ignorant fool. Don’t be brash unless you have the brass to follow through.” Beniyta could only stare at Panitil. He turned his attention to Haley, just in time, to bring his right hand up again and catch her Bo as it swung at his head. She gasped; surprised he had reacted so quickly. He sneered at her. She glared back, pulled the bo from his grasp and attempted to stab at his stomach. Panitil took a step to his left, causing the bo to stab right in front of him. Quickly he grasped the bo and, with great ease, swung it up and back towards Haley. The hard wood hit her square in the middle of the forehead. Her eyes rolled up into her head quickly and she fell to the ground, unconscious. Panitil pulled the bo back and then, once again with great ease, snapped the bo over his knee. He threw the pieces at Beniyta, who was now getting to his feet.
“Be more aware of your surroundings next time, boy. Or else you-“ Panitil never managed to finish as he let a yell of pain. He fell onto his stomach as Jeff landed on his back, a knife dug deep into his upper shoulder. Jeff had followed Haley and Tony in the shadows to surprise anyone in case they were attacked. Unfortunately, he had seen that he didn’t stand a chance of popping out and saving Tony or Haley before or else he would have been compromised too. But he’d seen his chance here.
“Take your own advice.” Jeff said as he took out another knife and prepared to stab Panitil in the back of the neck.
Suddenly, a bolt of electricity hit Jeff. His body shook violently, sending the knife in his hand flying. He fell, limp, to the ground. He had been knocked unconscious as well.
Panitil got up and roared, pulling the knife out of his back. He looked to Beniyta, whose Thyren machine was whirring down after he had shocked Jeff. Panitil didn’t say anything but very softly nodded his head. Beniyta returned the favor.
“Take them”
* * * * * * * * * * * *
Garret, Liza and Sam heard the attacks. They had made it to an overturned bus when they heard it. And when they had turned to run back and help, they found they had been surrounded.
Inativa, Plavin and Sturdia stood in a triangle around them. The two boys facing the two boys, the girl facing the girl. They were trapped.
“What do we do now?” Liza asked, staring down Inativa.
“I guess we have no choice. We have to defend ourselves.” Garret said, holding his hands up in a defensive way.
Sam took off the butterfly swords from his hips and brought them up. Liza took out her knife. A chuckle ran through the three Pretori.
“You think you stand a chance?” Inativa asked.
“You don’t.” Plavin answered.
“You’re overwhelmed.” Sturdia said.
“You all are.” Inativa started again.
“Your friends are being picked off as we speak.” Plavin said.
“And now.” Sturdia started as they all raised their sharpened gauntlets. “You’re next.”
Inativa was the first to attack, rushing forward and taking a swipe at Liza’s arm. Liza managed to move out of the way quickly and then took a swipe at Inativa. Inativa pulled her head back, the knife sliding forward in front of her face but not touching. Then she kicked Liza. Liza stumbled backwards but put herself back in defense as Inativa continued her assault.
Plavin rushed forward, stabbing towards Garret’s chest. Garret expertly blocked it away and threw a punch into Plavin’s arm. Plavin grunted in pain but immediately swung his gauntlet around, swiping at Garret’s face. Garret bent backwards, dodging the swipe, and back flipped, kicking his opponent in the face as he did so. Plavin stumbled and grabbed his face. Garret landed and stood right back up, his hands still up. Plavin growled and attacked again.
Sturdia leapt forward, bringing his gauntlet down to swipe in a downward motion. Sam put both the butterfly swords up and blocked the gauntlet. Sturdia landed and immediately thrust his left hand forward, choking Sam. Sam was taken aback. He was choking but if he moved his butterfly swords, the right hand with the gauntlet would come down on him. He quickly used all his strength to push Sturdia’s right hand up and away from attacking him. They he smashed the butt of each butterfly sword into the temples of Sturdia. Immediately, the Pretori stopped choking him, stumbling in pain. Sam brought his right leg up and kicked him away. Then he went on the offensive.
Liza continued to battle Inativa. Liza kept moving back and avoiding the sharp points of the gauntlet whilst taking swipes at Inativa. As of right now, they were at a stalemate. Suddenly Inativa took a swipe and Liza moved out of the way. But Inativa followed up, grabbing Liza’s hair painfully. Then she took another swipe and slashed Liza across the stomach. Three thin lines were cut into her shirt and three gashes could be seen starting to bleed. Liza yelled in pain. But quickly reached out and grabbed Inativa by the back of the head. She pulled the alien’s head down while at the same time, she raised her knee. She smashed her knee cap right into the temple of the Inativa. She yelled in pain. Liza took this chance to slash Inativa across the stomach as well. The black leathery cloak sliced evenly and a slash appeared on the light blue belly of Inativa. Purple blood could be seen pooling. Inativa growled angrily. She punched Liza in the side of the face with her left hand. Then she stumbled back and touched her stomach, clenching her teeth in pain. Liza fell to her knees, struggling to regain her composure. Inativa’s Thyren machine whirred to life and as Liza started to stand up and regain her clear vision, electricity shot out of the palm of Inativa’s gauntlet and struck the ground around her in a box shape. Liza looked down at it, confused. What the hell? She thought. But before she could think anything else, the felt the ground start to fall out from under her. She looked up. It fell quicker than she expected but she just managed to leap forward off the falling piece of cement and grab onto the edge. But as she did, she felt her hands slipping. The ground was wet and slippery from the constant snow fall. She had to think of something. It might be easier to hold on if I wasn’t holding the knife too. She thought.
That was it
She quickly turned the knife around and stuck it, as hard as she could in her position, into the ground. She felt it stick and hold her weight. But when she started to try and pull herself up by it, it started to give away. She looked up and around. This had been her answer to saving her life.
But not for long.
Garret had watched Liza fall out from under her feet. He also had seen her grab the edge. Now his full concentration was stopping this guy and getting to her.
“Liza! Hang on!” He yelled.
He turned just in time to see Plavin taking another swing at him. He quickly blocked it and punched Plavin in the face. Then he quickly turned and took off towards his friend. He undid his katana from his waist and proceeded to run faster, holding out in front of him, just in case. He was about ten feet away when he felt it. Two hands pulling his feet out from under him. He slipped out and landed on his face, the katana sliding right in front of him. He groaned; the impact painful. But he struggled to get up. Then a bolt of electricity hit him, straight in the middle of the back. He yelled in pain and collapsed, his body limp. All he could was lie there and stare at his friend hanging on for dear life.
Sam was having a tough time fighting off Sturdia now that he had made him angry. He continued to throw swings with his sharpened gauntlet and all Sam could do was block. He rarely had enough time to attack. This guy sure is a pro. Sam thought. He had glanced and seen Liza fallen and he saw that Garret was heading to her. He’ll get to her. I just need to hold this guy off.
“Guys! I’m slipping.” Liza yelled out.
Oh shit.
Sam glanced over to see Liza, still hanging out for dear life. And he also saw Garret, lying on the ground with the Pretori called Plavin standing over him.
I guess it’s up to me.
Sturdia swung again, aiming at Sam’s face. Sam grabbed Sturdia’s wrist of the attacking hand. He wrenched that arm out quickly and hard, causing a yelp to emerge from Sturdia. Sam brought his right leg up and kicked Sturdia in the stomach as hard as he could. Another yelp from Sturdia, who bent over in pain. Then, to finish it off, Sam pulled as hard as he could on Sturdia’s arm and threw him towards Plavin. Sturdia didn’t fly nearly as far as Sam wanted but he slid quickly on the ground when he hit. Plavin didn’t even notice as Sturdia slid towards him. He was reaching down towards Garret, a wicked smile on his face. Suddenly, Sturdia slid into his legs, knocking him out from under him. They both fell to the ground.
“Guys!”
This was Sam’s only chance.
He ran. He ran hard towards the hole. He ran hard towards his friend struggling to keep her knife dug into the ground. He ran harder than he ever thought he could. As he drew closer to the hole, he saw the knife start to give away. Sam went into a slide; his pants slipping easily on the slick, icy ground. He threw one of the butterfly swords away but held onto his right one. He hit the edge of the hole just as Liza’s knife gave away.
Sam slammed his butterfly sword into the ground, just barely catching a hole in the ground. He outstretched his left arm for Liza’s, who was holding up both her hands in desperation. Sam blinked.
They both fell.
Sam’s knife held tightly, stopping him. He hung there, almost limply. His right arm killed him; this was an awkward angle for him, pulling on his forearm muscles. He opened his eyes to see Liza, hanging on to his hand. He couldn’t help but smile at her. And she smiled back, thankful. He pulled her up and she grabbed onto the sword as well. She looked at him.
“Going somewhere?” He asked her.
She laughed weakly. “No, thanks to you.”
“Well, this is sweet.” Both Liza and Sam looked up to see Inativa, Plavin and Sturdia standing over the hole, looking at them.
“You saved her life. How heroic.” Plavin said.
“Too bad it was only for now.” Sturdia said, chuckling.
“Get them out of there and grab this one. Geintz calls.”
Liza and Sam looked at each other. They both did their best to hide their fear.

The Eleven planned the battle the whole way. All of the attacks were to come at the same time. Except for the attack on Sam, Garret and Liza. That was to lower the morale of those particular three. Why? Because they were fighting the siblings. The sibling’s mission, always, is to bring down morale
The mission originally was stated to only kill a few of them and torture the rest to death.
How lucky were they to get all of the friends alive.
