goin' under

if i ever make movies, i'd fill my movies with actor's like quinten terentino. The same actors in a lot of his movies, versitle, but not enormously famous. like buck from kill bill, is also a police officer in jackie brown. samuel l. jackson is in like all of his movies in some form or another. his cameo in kill bill 2 is hilarious. but i think there is something beautifully artistic about a collection of films by the same director/writer with the same actors. it reminds me that at least some film is still an artform.

i really want to see tristan and isolde when it comes out. i dunno what it is about it, but it looks like its going to be a really good movie. maybe the trailer is just really exciting. i can't decide. but james franco is hot, and i love it when he crys in movies, cause his eyes turn into big wet marbles. so someone needs to come and see tristan and isolde with me. its ridely scott, i think, so its either gonna be hit or miss.

i'm reading lolita that ryan gave to me and so far its really interesting, and i'm not surprised it was so contraversial when it came out, its still a taboo today. its funny though, because i'm in the process of writing a play about lilith, the first wife of adam from the adam and eve mythology and 10 pages into it Nabokov actually mentions eve and lilith. the main character is an older gentleman who falls in love with nymphets, the sultry deamonic girl-children. He says that one of the girls he was with was an Eve, but what he truly wanted was a Lilith. Ryan has this uncanny way of throwing literature my way at just the right moments. First, the Birth of Tragedy and now Lolita.

so yes. this is all true. i'm gonna finish watching jackie brown and attempt to be productive today.
