The country should be ready...but remember, you live in the most liberal of all states. Of course California is ready.
Here, I'd probably be shot if I so much as uttered the words "That Obama guy seems like he'd make a really good presid-".

Hahaha I'm dying to visit the South, though I wouldn't last a minute in Mississippi. But it'd be worth it because of the southern ladies. I love those accents. ;)

And hell, at least someone in the South would listen to my rants every once in a while, because everyone in Cali is either too stoned, too stupid, or too self-important to care what other people think.

ok. add me. &since you like williams:

the red scare

so much, is the wheel of a barrow
depending, as it does, upon the red
glaze of rain, an accident of birth.
the white chickens are beside themselves.
if i existed at all, i could go on.

&since you like bukowski:

Now We Are Three

The lowered crayon sinks into his fist,
at Mom’s discovery. Paint-smeared cave
or revolutionary fauve atelier-
something only Dada could love-
but on the wall of the living room?

A shame indelible as the mouth
of the mad horse in Picasso’s Guernica.
Mother says nothing, but her look
would curdle milk in mid-sentence.

For the sake of form, the rubber nipple
he used to turn squeaky in his teeth,
replaced by a two-handled plastic cup,
later, the pocketed pint of bad Scotch.

How we begin to learn, with unspoken
words, the lash of the eye, more harsh
than a strap of doubled leather.

As the nurse wheeled the old guy out
into the sun, a sticky copy of Winnie
the Pooh, slid from his difficult paws.

There is nothing nicer than waking up to find poetry in my inbox. And with allusion to "The Red Wheelbarrow", even better.

I had you added on my old LJ, but I will add you to this one as well, of course.

Or perhaps the illusion of a red wheelbarrow. I'm chicken. A donut glazed with rainwater.
Capt. Wow is Capt. Mom upside down.
