Windy Wellington
Arrived in Wellington last night. The backpacker I picked is in the nightclub district, lovely. Base is the place you stay when you don't know any better, but its a safe bet if you are going to be checking in late. Think they should lower their dorm price to $20 or less though, considering the throb that always drifts through from the basement disco they tend to have. In another decade I might have holed up and gone on a bender. Thank God those days are done with. So I'm going on the LoTR tour on Monday (please be cheesy... i do love my cheese), then might move on to Napier, if I can get my place ticket changed. Napier was leveled by an earthquate in 1931 adn was rebuilt in art deco/mission style, and is preserved as such. Nifty!
Apparently I have been in country long enough for my accent to have slid. I suspected such, as the americans on tv are sounding a bit nasal. Going by kiwi consensus last night, I am now from Vancouver, BC.
