Time for an update....
One project and an exam left and I'm outta here! This group project has been rather hellish - but hey...group work usually is. You'd think the fact that there are two of us in the group would make things easier, but not so much. When my group partner's friend got arrested and Kim had to scrounge up money for bail, it was downhill from there....
Teachers' college declined me for all 3 schools - I love it. I'm sort of indifferent to it all, but wondering about the selection process and if it is corrupt, or if they are genuinely picking the most qualified applicants. Hmmmm.....U of T is now a school that has both accepted and declined me. Go figure! If I genuinely did not meet the requirements for all 3 schools, that's fine, but I would love to see what other applicants have that I was missing. How I got into a Masters program and not the B.Ed, I will never know.
I'm starting my Oxford Seminars course (for teaching english overseas) this weekend which I am uber excited about! It's going to be grand. NEW learning, hopefully.
Am planning an engagement party for a friend in my program. She's older than me (24? 25?ish) so it seems a bit more normal, but I still can't imagine being married yet. As I sit here in my mice-infested apartment on my comforter I have had since preschool, eating kraft dinner.....ha. I'll grow up sometime, I promise. But now is not the time! I have knitting and playing to do.
I've done surprisingly well in my women and [international] development class, and I've loved it. It's had me thinking about doing some sort of development work when I grow up. Unicef, or something lovely like that. I wrote this paper on the Grameen Bank (micro-credit institution for women in developing countries) and blew myself away when I did well on it. My prof for the class is amazing.....I have this mini crush on her. She's all tall, black, knowledgeable, gorgeous, Ph.D....mm. Am I the only one who finds academic achievements to be a slight turn-on? HA. Oh dear.
Anyway....off find some breakfast.
