I wonder about the purpose of these costumes. The scientists certainly have a morbid sense of humour and we know they're not above using us as playthings.

Ah, but it is almost Halloween. I'm sure we're all looking forward to it, just to see what sort of madness ensues.

I apologize for being so direct, but Mello-san said you have a photograph that I would like to see?

If it isn't too much trouble, I would like to see it.

...........

Sorry, it is too much trouble. Way too much. Not interested. Go make that lying jerk show you his copy.

Mello-san lied to you?

Everything that jerk says is a lie.

He wanted to see the photo, so I said sure. He comes over, I show it to him, and without asking he starts making copies of it, acting all smug, and refusing to tell me a thing about why it's so important. And being totally obvious about it, too.

So I said, give me some answers, and - like the biggest idiot in the world - he picks up and runs out the door. Like a stupid cartoon! What kind of an idiot is so afraid of telling the truth that he has to act like that? I would have chased him and beat the crap out of him - and don't think I couldn't have - except I was so busy staring in disbelief. And my dominant arm's broken, too.

So basically, I'm not interested in helping him or one of his friends out, thanks.

I'm sorry. I didn't think he was the sort of person who would do that.

I'll ask him. I'm sorry for the trouble.

Good luck getting any answers out of him. He'll just lie and try and manipulate you, too. People like that should just be ignored completely. Untrustworthy.

...I'll try not to let that happen.

Thank you for telling me he has a copy.

It already has happened. He didn't tell you he had his own copy, right? He's already lying and manipulating you.

Why do you want to see it so bad, anyway?

I'm used to that.

I wish to see it, just to confirm something.

You shouldn't settle for being treated like a prop or tool by some jerk just because you're "used to it."

What do you want to confirm?

It's not something that's important.

As for what I wish to confirm; that would be the possible identity of one of the scientists.

It is important! Don't you want to stand up for yourself? Be your own person? Passive people are so annoying!

--And what do you mean, the identity of one of the scientists? Tell me what you mean. Which one. Why do you think my photo is a clue? How do you know?

~A small laugh, and he sounds a little sad~ Really, don't worry worry about it.

In any case, I believe one of the photos, Mello-san said a class photo, may have Lolita in it. I don't know, which is why I would like to confirm it.

[hmph] Yeah? And how do you know? If "Lolita" is in my photo, how would you know or be able to tell?
