So I wrote in to the LA Times this morning regarding an article in the business section about a future ethanol plant in the works in Peru. I thought it was a well written and informative piece, (and I told the writer such) but also that I felt even though it was a business piece, it left me wondering about what kind of environmental effects such a developent would have on that area of Peru. I told him I felt that angle had been slighlty neglected, with supporting excerpts from his story that lead to my curiosity. I don;t mind saying that I thought I made a good case, and that my letter was very well written.
Story is here:

I know he's probably a busy guy, but come one... I might write back to tell him not to patronize me.
oh, also I went to the indoor arena on a whim last night to see if anyone needed a spare soccer player. Got picked up for the first game and basically shut down the other team's offense while still scoring twice from long range. It was great to play again after what seemed to be a very long hiatus. They want me to play next week, we'll see.
Awhile ago... Went for a bike ride in the hills over laguna. As I took some pictures, up the hill comes this lone St. Bernard. He stops long enough for me to pet him then takes off going into the hills & away from civilization. Weird, must have got out of the house, but he looked like he knew where he was going and was on a mission.
This is not my new favorite beach, but it's a clue since it's close.
Nice sunset that day.
