What was it? It reminded her of a daimon, a misshapen creature formed from a corrupted human victim, but that gaping hole where there should have been innards and organs didn’t bode well. Was this monstrosity even killable, if it could live like that? How?

“Dark Power, Make-up!” The flare of power left Mercury in Ami’s place, and only goaded the hollow onward in its hunger for the soul so close by, a soul that stood out even more for that spike of energy like a bright beacon.
