so spring break is pretty sweet. nick eric and amanda left my house today. i really enjoyed being with them. amanda let me borrow her book "Velvet Elvis" by Rob Bell ( a pretty famous preacher) and i was just readin through the first chapter and thought i'd refect on a few main points that i was able to grasp from it.
Everyone has faith. Not only Christ-followers have faith. Everybody is following somebody. and if you have the guts to say you're your own person, and you think for yourself, good. thats a honorable thought, but You got those beliefs from some one else.
An atheist has tremendous faith. and Darwinism takes a lot more faith than Christianity.
In the Christian world, we often think we dont know enough or arent connected enough with God to share our faith or talk about it, but great news: We never will know EVERYTHING
God is bigger than our words, our brains, our worldviews and our imaginations.
once we put God into words or describe him, we have made him into less than he really is.
We will always have questions, and we will always have doubts, but its because we are trying to process and put God into this figure but he is far greater than anything our minds could EVER comprehend.
You rarely defend the things you love. You enjoy them and tell others about them and invite others to enjoy them with you.
thats how Christianity should be.
a lot of questions are Good.
In Genesis Chapter 18, God didnt get angry with Abraham when he began to question God. Instead he engaged with him even more and proved himself. Our God is a good God.
Some take the verse John 3:16, For God so loved the world He gave his one and only Son....Stop there. so many questions....
the one question that stuck out when i read that basic verse was
What motivates God to love like this???
Answer: 1 John 4:8 ..... GOD IS LOVE
he set the bar. you can't really love or really know what love is unless you know God. because God is love.
