since working at Barnes and Noble, i've managed to read Wicked, Nikki Sixx's Heroin Diaries, Animal Farm, Love Is a Mix Tape, and Steve Martin's bio. as of now, i'm getting ready to finish a book called Things I've Learned from Women Who've Dumped Me, which is hilarious by the way. i'm thinking about reading Virgin Suicides next since i liked Middle Sex a lot. any recommendations?
last week was pretty memorable for good reasons. i tried some special brownies only to find out that they don't work. me and Wendy can now cross that off of our list. i then proceded to be a lush for the rest of the week, drinking almost every day. i felt i could do this since i got free tickets for the Kris Roe show and since there was a free Telescreen show. those two nights had a lot of Elaine hang out time which was rad.
sometimes i think i should just move to Raleigh since i also wound up at the Jackpot two nights in a row. one night was after En Serenade played. that night in general was weird as hell. let me explain...
we went to the venue only to find out that they didn't have alcohol and that everyone there was 14 years old. great. so we peaced out right after En Serenade played. went to Waffle House where i ate a shit ton of hashbrowns only to see Heather there, my old roomie from Boone. she's getting married in May which freaks me out. i told Wendy she had to go with me cause all it's goin make me wanna do is get drunk, which i intend on doing as long as there is free booze. moving on, so then i tell Wendy that Jackpot is a cool place to go so we venture there only to see Bodie and Ryan there from En Serenade. Ryan invites us over to hang out. i meet his girlfriend Courtney and this girl Buffy, who happens to be from Hillsborough and who dates He is Legend boy. what a small fuckin world. so for the rest of the night, we booze it up and talk about random stuff. for a slight moment in time, i kind of felt like i belonged. im still awkward, but that's ok.
lastly, Lauren told me the best story ever. apparently, smiling pays off.
