Kingsley pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to wake himself. His Arithmancy homework was particularly tedious, and it didn't seem to be getting any better. Things had seemed to fall into a rut lately, and he couldn't help being restless.
Shoving the homework aside, he leaned onto the back legs of his chair and set his feet on the table with a heavy thud. He rested a moment there rubbing his temples, trying to clear his head enough that he could get back to work.
No such luck.
After a moment, he set back down and circled the common room with his eyes for something distracting. There were some people milling about, like always. A pair near the fire were playing chess, and the white rook had just taken a beating from the black queen. As the small piece limped off the board, and the players continued their game, Kingsley, having already lost interest, looked to the window.
Outside, things were as monstrous quiet as they were inside, and Kingsley took no peace from the stars twinking through the window. He needed to get out, talk to Frank, Alice, Keda...anyone. Hell, he'd talk to Potter if it would make things less quiet...
