Health

My health has not been great over the last two years. I'm currently having a barrage of tests to try to determine what's going on. I will be posting about it from time to time, but I'll use lj-cut so it's easily skipped. ( medical stuff )

there isn't really a 'best case' option here, is there? although i suppose of all of them CFS is the least bad. perhaps.

i sometimes wonder if there might be some underlying cause for my issues, other than that my immune system hates me. probably not, though.

here's hoping that the immunologist performs magic. i'll be thinking good thoughts.

I think CFS and RA are the worst in terms of potential disability. If anything, HHV (of some sort) is the best diagnosis. Thank you, though. It sounds like you'd do well to see an allergist or clinical immunologist.

you're right. i was thinking in terms of least life-threatening, i suppose. i've seen an allergist already, and had other allergy work done with naturopaths. the difficulty is trying to weed out what symptoms are purely physical and what are contributed to by the depression etc. eh.

Yeah, it can be hard to work out whether symptoms are related to depression/anxiety or purely physical. I'm at the stage where I'm thinking it's all one thing, you know? The body and mind aren't really separate, but that's not to say that one specific illness (like depression) is the cause of all symptoms (and vice versa). Co-existing illnesses makes diagnosis and management more complex.

And then of course there's secondary depression and anxiety which can be symptoms of physical pathology and not discrete illnesses.
