We were working on Analogies today. I wrote on the board: Up is to down as high is to _____. Called on a student. She filled in the blank (low). Then I asked who could explain why she's correct........
Student - Well, down and low is the same thing. Like, if someone is lying on the ground, they're down. Just like the garbage can there is low because it's on the ground.
Me - ::surpressing a giggle:: Good observation. But now explain why 'up' is like 'high' then.
Student - Well, up is like high...because it's up there. Like how you and [the principal] are tall. So you're up.
*sniffle* Someone thinks i'm tall!! I <3 this kid!!!!!!
