Perhaps this is worth trying again.

Easily.

Then do it, if you want a better estimate of the date.

I suspected this post was directed at me - and I might just go and do that.

You sure you don't have any Klingon blood in you?

It was inspired by your false information, yes, but also by similar work I tried to accomplish a year ago.

Considering I have no idea what a Klingon is? No.

How far did you get in your investigations?

Warrior race, nasty tempers, all about honor... My eighth host, Jadzia, was married to one. It's thanks to that I'm member of the House of Martok, interestingly enough. Not that that means anything to anyone here.

Not very, given that the individual who was working on the device I had specified disappeared before he could finish. It was in the previous compound, however. There was a reliable if low-level supply of rare isotopes in the background radiation from the old Chernobyl incident, and as we had the date for that and the half-lives of the relevant isotopes, calculating the current date would have been easy. It may be that we are close enough to the old site to pick up some of these trace elements here, which would be convenient. Dating based on carbon isotopes from the trees here would be... imprecise.

While I can think of someone who fits that description, I do not.
