Well, someone has to be the Plot Tiger and why not Sam (again)? -_- But seriously, where S5 left off, it makes sense that this season would have to deal *somehow* with the aftermath of jumping into the cage (plot). It's just that Sam is once again being manipulated (at least in terms of the general circumstance), which seems like a huge letdown considering how he was supposed to be redeemed by his own choices/sacrifice in "SS". Talk about two steps back. I see the attraction in the symmetry of making it be Sam that pulls Dean back into the hunt, but there are ways to have woven Dean into the mytharc (plot) rather than making him largely reactive to ... everyone, which I think makes him seem even more rage-y and like an emotional ping pong ball.
I want to like Show again! I want to crack up and enjoy the camp and brotherly bonding and write meta about The Point.
I hear you. Show is so much more fun with squee. I'd much rather write happy, excited meta about anything Show related rather than ones about what Show is missing or why it feels off. Sadly, I've stopped trying to write character-based meta because right now the characters aren't very inspiring or fun to think about. *is so sad* I'd much rather dork out and use Show as a vehicle to study camera angles.
Agreed. It's kind of... jerking away what Sam was building towards which honestly? Is kind of par the course. :/ Why can't we keep positive character growth for more than thre episodes?
I really want some writer interviews soon but I have a feeling they'd just be a big ol' letdown and some generic appeasements. Yeesh. On the plus side! YOU SHOULD TOTALLY WATCH PSYCH WITH ME. And maybe The Prisoner. You'll spend years trying to make sense of The Prisoner... (and I really am not lying there...)

*perks up* Oh really. :)
Is the Prisoner an older series (like 1950's or something)?
The bummer is that I don't get the USA Network to watch Psych. Buuuuttt, I just found it on Clicker. \o/ So perhaps one of these nights, I'll give it a whirl! Wheeeee! I'll let you know. I need some new shows to love.
It's fun and clever and lite and fluffy and seriously pop culture. 80s references out the wazoo.
As for The Prisoner... it is the Mother of All Mindscrews. It makes Evangelion look semi-normal. I finally figured out the ending after twenty-ish years! (Although to be fair I saw it first when it was 7)
