Skin deep [for songofsong]

Quiet footsteps rang out in the corridors of Stormcage. Each step was precise and exacting, with an sound that echoed as if in chorus with the constant crashes of lightning beyond the walls.

There was a new resident, and he uttered not a word as he walked with a calm air towards his cell, flanked by guards.

He was a tall man, with limbs as precise as his movements, and he wore a suit, crisp in a ink navy blue. His face was as sharp as the suit he wore, with features that could cut through steel. His eyes were grey and shone, and atop his head his dark hair was perfectly set, save for one curl that even in its unruliness seemed particular and designed.

He uttered not a word as his cell creaked open, nor as the guards instructed him to change into the regulation clothes. He sat down on the bed, his back straight and stiff with his hands still atop his lap. He didn't move, nor look, not even as they stepped out and closed the heavy bars behind them.

It was only when they left, and the whole corridor lit up with a white clash of lightning, did his eyes lift up and his mouth twist into a dark smirk.

Oh, his plan was going perfectly.
