Charity Event for a Good Cause

To anyone who actually reads my Journal, and can make this trip...

A good friend of mine from the past, Kris Rectner, was involved in a motorcycle accident. He lost one of his hands, broke his neck in 2 places, and severely damaged his spine, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.

If you're from Albany, or played Ultrazone at all there, you might know him better as "Iceman," or as we affectionately called him, "Iceturd."

Because of the wonderful state of medicare and medicaid in the country, he's moving into a nursing home, to help with his ongoing recovery.

On the 24th of August (that's a Sunday for those who don't have a calendar handy), there will be a benefit for him at Northern Lights in Clifton Park, NY. Their website is http://www.northernlightslive.com if you need directions. Ticket price is posted at $15 per person, but I'm strongly urging anyone who reads this to try to attend and donate more, if they can.

There will be a few bands playing that day, along with raffles, and other entertainment. If you don't come because I asked you to, at least consider donating something to one of my old time friends who really needs a few shoulders to lean on right now. If you don't want to make the trip out to Albany, consider giving me your donations to bring up. Just, honestly, every dollar means something, and I'd appreciate it if everyone who knows me could chip in, just a little. Or pass this on through your livejournals. I really want to help Kris out.

Thanks, really... I appreciate any help.
