SALEM - A total of five people were arrested by Marion County sheriff's deputies on Thursday for alleged manufacture of methamphetamine. The suspects, Robert Moore, 48, Jacob Woods, 21, Corey Moore, 17, Matthew Bounds, 39, Laura Moore, 25, and Lea Coats, 17, were taken to the Marion County Jail following their arrests. Although formal charges had not yet been filed at press time, the investigation remained ongoing.

Suspects in recent raid face drug, weapon charges

SALEM - Multiple drug and weapons charges are now pending against a total of ix suspects arrested during a drug raid by Marion County sheriff's deputies on Thursday.
According to police reports, the drug bust was initiated at a home on Lake Road near the Hubbard Woods area southeast of Centralia, and methamphetamine labs were allegedly discovered in both the home and garage of the residence of Robert Moore, 47, and his wife, 25-year old Laura Moore.
During the execution of the raid, deputies said they were forced to "put down" a pit bulll with a single gun shot that allegedly attempted to attack a deputy while searching the home.
Both Robert and Laura Moore are expected to face charges of manufacture with the intent to deliver methamphetamin, possession of six cannabis plants, possession of anhydrous ammonia in an unauthorized container and possession of two four wheelers that wre allegedly stolen and fou nd at the residence.
Laura Moore is additionally being hed for alleged possession of a gun without a firearm ownder's identification card. Bail for each suspect was set at $500,000 in Circuit Court in Marion County.
Also arrested were Jacob Wood, 20, of Walnut Hill and Matthew Bounds, 29, also of Walnut Hill, who were charged with manufacture with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of anhydrous ammonia in an unapproved container and possession of stolen property. Bail for Wood and Bounds was set at $100,000 each, according to court records.
In addition to Robert Moore, his son, Cory Moore, 17, of Centralia and his reported girlfriend, Lea Coats, 17, of Irvington are being held for manufacture with intent to distribute a controlled substance and possession of less than 2½ grams of cannabis and drug paraphernalia as a result of the drug raid. Bail was set at $100,000 for Cory Moore, and $50,000 for Coats.
According to police reports, deputies initially went to the home in an effort to serve a search warrant for a weapon allegedly possessed by Robert Moore without a firearm owner's identifaction card.
Upon arriving at the home, deputies reported that drugs were allegedly seen in plain sight, which prompted a second search warrant and the alleged uncovering of more than 400 grams of suspected methamphetamine, multiple anhydrous containers and other ingredients allegedly used in the manufacture of the drug.
Deputies indicated that a seventh suspect was being sought in the conjunction with the drug bust. The supect reportedly fled into the woods upon police arriveal.
Police reportedly seized more than $24,000 allegedly found in Robert Moore's possession.
