i saw aimee mann at woodland park zoo this past week, had a really good time. emory's parents have tickets to all the zoo tunes concerts, they had an extra one, which meant i didn't have to pay, which was a pretty sweet deal. concerts at the zoo are good because you can sit and eat, which we did. emory's parent brought excellent food. pete drodge opened up. he wore this orange reeses peanut butter cups shirt, my brother used to have one just like it. he played 1 thorns' song, and the one hit he had that goes, "if you don't love me i'll kill myself," which sounds morbid, but the song is such a toe tapper. aimee played 4 songs from magnolia, a few older ones...calling it quits...some from lost in space...and a cover of coldplay's the scientist.
lindsay and i saw masked and anonymous on friday night. it was enojyable, not a typical movie setting, but that was a positive. we also rented spun, which would have been better if we had not accidently gotten the rated version...explictives were bleeped out and genitals fuzzed over to get that R rating.
i had an interview for a jibsheet position (bcc's newspaper) on friday. it went okay, but it was the worst interview i've ever taken part in. i wasn't prepared...i don't really believe in preparing for job interviews. they would hire me on my merits. if i have to tell them what i think they want to hear, i don't want the job. anyhow, i still have not heard back from them on what position i got (i wanted assistant a&e editor) or whether i even get a position. i'll be happy either way though. getting this would help keep me busy, but i can always find something else to do that.
