They'll go for atheists and agnostics, too, if they aren't already.

A little more detail than what I posted the other day.  Posted from an email I got from the www.aclj.org people - more info found at their site.
The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), the largest lobbying body of nations within the United Nations (U.N.) - including countries in the Middle East, Asia and even South America - is pushing an ( Read more... )

shockingly, i'm a catholic within a strict muslim family. i've never been scared for my life, i've NEVER lied about who i was, and my father has never threatened my life.

and also, because you know, christians have never hunted down and killed anyone who didn't share their faith...oh wait.

That's good that you've never been scared for your life! What country do you live in, btw? Aren't you here in the States?

I am assuming you mean the crusades...everyone brings up the crusades. I don't know a whole ton about the crusades, but I DO know that modern Christians are for freedom of religion for everyone - everyone, not just those of a similar faith (ie: differing denominations within the Christian faith). Come to think of it, I can't recall Jesus telling anyone in the Bible to go kill off other people...and JESUS is the basis and heart of Christianity - to follow Jesus, to be more like Him is the goal of anyone who truly is a Christian. What did Jesus do? Love on people, and accept them as they were.

What does the Koran teach? I've never studied it, and I'm assuming that you have more knowledge of it since you're part of a strict Muslim family.

PS. Does it make it right for a man to cut out his daughter's tongue and kill her for converting, because people claiming to be Christians have hunted down & killed people in the past? More Jews hunted down & killed at God's directive, than Christians, but there doesn't seem to be an issue with Jews when people grumble about Christians. The term "Christian" didn't come about until after Jesus came and it's supposed to be applied to those who follow Him, not just to some dick on a corner with a sign that says "turn or burn."

actually the koran teaches that everyone who believes in one god is a muslim. muslims are those who are in submission to god or allah.

and i'm talking about the kkk, the christian knights, the people that burned down mosques and killed sikhs after 11 september. i'm talking about nazis, who believed that god told them to kill jews, christians, and gypsies.

i go to morocco every year! and guess what, i've gotten more shit for being a catholic here in america than back in morocco.

so the christians are supposed to dictate how the world is supposed to live?

Did not know that - thanks! I've heard some pretty negative things about the Koran.

The kkk - absolutely twisted individuals whose heads are so far up their asses that they've turned themselves inside out. The christian knights - don't really know much of anything about them, but I found this link (and a few references to the kkk) http://historymedren.about.com/od/firstcrusade/a/darklegacy.htm where it mentions this paragraph: One might argue that those who have studied the teachings of Jesus Christ would be shocked at the suggestion of killing anyone in Christ's name. But it is ( ... )

oh but all of the people i mentioned would say they are christians doing a christian god's work, just as those who kill in the name of allah (swt) say they are doing his work.

who is wrong? both of them. why suddenly, is islam the target? why not judaism or christianity? palestinian civilians get killed just like israeli ones and yet, if you say one bad thing about israel in public office, you are basically stonewalled?

humans are spiritual beings, but we color our scripture with our own prejudices and misconceptions.

Islam isn't the problem reference in this post, though. Please reread the post.

Just because a person says they're doing God's work, does that mean that they are? No, it sure doesn't. Just because Diet Coke makes you feel that you're doing better at dieting, does it mean you are? NO it sure doesn't. People can say ANYTHING, but it doesn't mean what they say is TRUE.
