I don't have any pictures to post, I wish I did, but, I wanted to know how many others have just been totally and utterly deeply affected by Bowie's music.

What kind of impact has it made on your life?

I love his stuff mostly from Black Tie White Noise and on. I made a CD of my favorites quite a few years ago, after my friend introduced me to some of his later stuff like Outside, Earthling and Reality, it has truly changed my life, and I never EVER get tired of hearing him.

I know I'm not alone in saying that. So what's David done for you?

Some of my favorite songs of his:

"The Last Thing You Should Do"
"Seven Years in Tibet"
"Jump They Say"
"New Killer Star"
"I'm Afraid of Americans" (my LJ namesake, of course!)
"Time Will Crawl"
"I'm Deranged"
"Last of the Dreamers"
"Hallo Spaceboy" (that song is SO KILLER)
"Little Wonder"
"Loving the Alien" (both the original and that awesome Scumfrog vs. Bowie remix)

And who can forget "Bring Me the Disco King!!!" That might be my most favorite. The lyrics are irreplacable. Life wasn't worth the balance...or the crumpled paper it was written on...

don't let me know we're invisible...don't let me know we're invisible...hot cash days that you trailed around...cold, cold nights under chrome and glass...led me down a river of perfumed limbs...sent me to the streets with a good time girl

don't let me know we're invisible...

We can dance, dance, dance through the fire

Feed me no lies (I don't know about you, I don't know about you)
Breathe through the years
(I don't know about you, I don't know about you)
Bring me the disco king, dead or alive

It is SO HARD to get good video or youtubes of his studio stuff, that drives me nuts! I mean FWIW he's awesome live, but I've always been partial to his studio recordings. Either way, the man is amazing. I couldn't begin to thank him if I ever met him for just being so freakin' awesome.

So what are your favorites of his?

**EDIT**

Because I need to put up some pics so that this post can abide, I started thinking about when I've liked him most, as far as his image goes.

I think the time I love best is his Black Tie, White Noise. I did just find some awesome pics of that time frame.

And one of my favorite songs of his EVER is "Jump They Say." And in the video he is just straight hot. I hope that anyone who hasn't heard it yet who's a fan of his will give the song a really good listen. It is an amazing song. I've grown with it. You know it's like, gotten me through some major times in my life. FWIW I have several favorite songs of his that have done that, but when I think about my favorite image of him it is definitely when he had the short haircut and was wearing those suits, just HOTT.

I don't think people give his stuff in the last decade enough credit. Many haven't heard it, maybe they stopped listening to him after the '70s or even the '80s when he had some great songs like "Time Will Crawl"...FWIW people need to give his newer stuff a listen, so they can appreciate like I do.

Good God this post has just BLOWN UP! Wow, I cannot believe how many comments it's gotten...I guess just we all have a lot to say about David, aye? Maybe he'll find this at some point and like totally love it!
