So I went and saw
Bob Dylan last night, and he was good. I mean hell, it's Dylan. He played some stuff off the new album which was good, and he played 'Lay Lady Lay' and some other classics, but then he played friggin' 'Tangled Up in Blue', which is my favorite Dylan song (maybe my favorite song in general) and I lost my damned mind. And he played 'Forever Young' and it was sad and beautiful. Then for the encore he did 'Like a Rolling Stone' and 'All Along the Watchtower'.
It was a great concert, when Dylan FINALLY got on. He had 3, THREE opening bands, and they all played for 45 minutes. So there's like 2 and a quarter hours right there, plus another forty five minutes of set-time, so by the time Dylan finally got on stage, we'd already been standing there for 3 hours. I will never go see a band with more than one opening band again unless I actually dig the band that's opening. I could be fine with never seeing Junior Brown or Jimmy Vaughn again. They're both good at what they do, but it's not what I paid the ticket for.
The highpoint of the night, besides seeing Bob Freaking Dylan, was when these two hippies in front of me started smoking pot right in the middle of the Bryce Jordan Center. I tapped them on the shoulder and told them they were in trouble and would need to come with me. The girlfriend asked me if I was a cop or something and I replied 'matter of fact, I am' and flipped my wallet open really quick. They were baked enough to not pick up on the fact that I didn't show a badge or anything and made a run for it. They were in the middle of a large crowd of people and spent more time tripping over each other, but at least I got myself some breathing room.
While I'm updating, I've been mulling over some things, random questions. I'll put them out to you guys, see what you think:
1. If someone lists their screen name on their profile in a personal's site, is it okay to actually IM them?
2. Drinking and having sex is bad, but is it all right if both people agree when they're sober to get drunk and screw that night?
3. If the bank/IRS/etc; makes a mistake in your favor, is it okay to keep the money?
4. How far can you go with someone before it's considered cheating? If you're just talking about with a person, are you, in a sense, already guilty?
5. If you have some disposable income and are supposed to be a responsible adult and saving your money for retirement, is it okay to drop $70.00 on 'Guitar Hero' even though it turns out the game is awesome?
6. If my boss isn't in the office today and it's technically a holiday, should I bother sticking around?
