I like to have themes when I play sets at bars or coffee shops. Even if no one else realizes there's a theme, I like to have them. Anyway, I've been thinking about it and I want to do a set of just uber-sappy, wussed-out love songs. So far I think 'Sometimes When We Touch,' 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn' and 'I Want it That Way' (Backstreet Boys) are a must, but do you have any other good suggestions? I'm looking for songs that people will actually know, songs that you'll turn the radio up to and sing along with when nobody else is in the house.
And while I'm at it, Amber asked me for the top ten songs I'm listening to right now, so I'll add those, too, but please you give me your suggestions.
1. Johnson's Motor Car - The Clancy Brothers
2. Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Baby - Barry White
3. Longfellow Serenade - Neil Diamond
4. Angel From Montgomery - John Prine and Bonnie Raitt
4. Elderly Woman Behind a Counter in a Small Town - Pearl Jam
5. Say a Little Prayer - Dionne Warwick (shut up)
6. We Want A Rock - They Might Be Giants
7. You Might Like Our Penises - Incredibad
8. Ziggy Stardust - David Bowie
9. Pants - Corky and the Juice Pigs
10. Only Living Boy in New York - Simon and Garfunkle
